If no device appears in the connect window, check the cable carries data (the bundled 2-pin pogo cable is charge-only) — and a few third-party-store units ship with USB flashing locked by the maker. The microSD card below works on every unit.
Flashed, but the screen is stuck?
Some newer X3 units use a different screen controller. Flowe boots and runs on them, but the screen keeps whatever the last firmware drew, so the buttons feel dead. The report below says which one you have and what the device tells us while it starts. Nothing is written to the device.
The report shows here, and a copy goes to the Flowe team so we can help. It contains your device's details and its startup messages — no books, no messages, nothing personal.
Live console
Watch the device talk while it runs. This does not restart it and writes nothing. If the device freezes while you watch, the last lines show what it was doing.
From the microSD card
Copy to the card
Open the zip — inside is update.bin. Put it at the root of the microSD card.
Flash
Insert the card. Hold the left side button and power together until the update screen appears. The device restarts into Flowe.

With the 4-pin data pogo cable, flash directly from a checkout:
